About The Event

This workshop will teach you how to plan, prepare and maintain your vegetable and herb garden organically. Take home knowledge and detailed notes to get your garden producing beautiful produce for you and your family. We will combine theory with walks around the garden to see examples of growing conditions, pests, pest exclusion, soil and more.

Learn methods to keep your garden productive, weed free and watered (even if you have a limited time for gardening!).

We will cover:

  • Planning and preparations (layout, location, sun requirements, irrigation, time restrictions)
  • Tools required
  • What to grow & when to plant it
  • Organic soil
  • Seedlings and propagation
  • Crop rotation
  • Pests

We will provide: Detailed notes and a selection of seeds to take home and kickstart your garden.

We will also enjoy morning tea and do a tour of the garden. Snacks, water and fruits available.

Please bring pen & paper, hat and a water bottle

Lizzie Buscaino is teaching this workshop. Lizzie runs Piccolo Farm with her husband Gianluigi, a mixed permaculture property with approx 1/2 acre of mixed market garden vegetable production. The property is managed using organic principles focusing on biodiversity and the production of nutrient dense and delicious veggies!
