Paddock to Cake!

About The Event
Join us for a day of tasting, using and decorating handmade cakes with edible flowers.
This workshop is run by Nicci (the amazing Cupcakes in Camden baker) and Lizzie (the edible flower farmer). We will put together a range of edible seasonal flowers, discuss how to store them to keep them fresh, how to best use them when decorating cakes, different arrangements and scenarios to use edible flowers and taste a variety of different flavours. Finally, we will try our hand at decorating our own cakes!
Nicci is a master baker who owns and operates the very popular Cupcakes in Camden, a boutique handmade cake making business specialising in unique creations. Nicci is an avid fan of using edible flowers in her arrangements, on cakes and bakes and regularly bakes delicious gluten free cakes for The Epicure Store in Camden. (can you tell I am a fan!?).
Lizzie owns and runs Piccolo Farm and is ridiculously lost in her passion to grow edible flowers. Since starting to grow a few varieties for restaurants the selection has grown more each year and encompasses some 30 types of flowers with numerous variations. Her flowers are sent to restaurants, cafe's, cake bakers and cocktail makers all across NSW and interstate.
It would seem then that we were destined to come together to share our passions and inspire you with a hands on workshop.
You will have a great day sharing the knowledge and becoming confident in using edible flowers. Morning tea is included (naturally!) and we will walk around the garden to gain a greater understanding of the edible flowers as we taste our way through a range of flowers both suitable for cakes and projects with more gutsy flavour.
Note: We will be outside (mostly under cover) so please wear a hat, bring a drink bottle and put on that sunscreen.
Come and enjoy a leisurely and relaxed day at the farm.
